In the past few hours, I have received several emails about the song “Healer” that I blogged about a few days back in this post.
I don’t know much of anything about this situation, other than what I have read in this article. I have read some emails that were asking various questions, but only found out about the article when I visited Carlos’ blog. So thanks to Carlos for providing the link to the article.
I will echo much of what Los stated on his post.
It appears, according to this article, that Mike lied about having cancer. It looks like he has lied not only to those listening to his song, but to his family and closest friends as well. The article goes on to state that he is currently seeking professional help.
I have no idea if any of these accusations are true. I do know that the media in Australia is typically biased against Christians as a whole. My wife has told me stories of the multiple attacks on Hillsong Church by the media during the years she lived there.
So, again – I don’t know much on this story – really no more than any of you.
I believe that God can and does use anyone in any condition for His glory. I believe He proves that everyday by using me (and you).
We have all fallen short and all have stumbled, but yet God still uses us – maybe in something we say or do, a song we sing, or a moment that we never even realize.
I believe that if He can use all of us… He certainly can use this song – even if the story behind it isn’t up on the level.
I still believe this song is anointed and I believe that God has used it to touch many in their moment of need. I certainly believe that the lyrics are true – as I know God is my ultimate healer. He has healed me from eternal death – removed me from the grips of hell and I know He is very much still on His throne.
Please pray for those that have been effected by this news. Please be in prayer for Michael and his family in this time. Pray for his church family and also for Hillsong Church.
Pray for those people that forget God is the God of second chances – pray they will learn to forgive. Pray for those that choose to hate instead of love. Pray for those that let this story effect their faith.
Most importantly, pray that God will use this for His glory in Australia and all over the world.

when i heard that song i didn’t know this fact, but now I know and it’s still blessing me… But i hope God heals him, it’s so sadly
i was one one of those people who were blessed by this song…I know and i believe that God healed this man..as it is written THERE IS NOTHING IMPOSSIBLE TO GOD”
We people,especially christians..have to understand that our faith need to be done..with work..
if u were all in his situation..i believe you will done this too…
But God sees his heart..He just wanted to be healed..And God generously healed him..
A person without a great experience on this spot cannot make a song like this..it is the devil who will deceived you..
by this news..if you were reading the bible..you can read that all this things already happen..it is only repeating himself….
be wise like a serpent my dear brothers and sisters..
God uses man of faith like him to blessed us through his song..
